PACU Registered Nurse Job in New Orleans, LA

Join Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care for pediatric and adult patients across 34 operating rooms on two floors, supporting all major surgical services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics
• Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio in PACU
• Float to pediatric PACU as needed
• Support patients undergoing regional anesthesia and ECT procedures
• Operate specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accuvein
• May be assigned to Emergency Team during emergency events with expectation to remain until event concludes

Requirements:

• RN license (Compact or LA license required upon submission)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or Pre/Post Op specialty
• Current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Current NURSYS reports required within 4 weeks of submission
• Must reside over 65 miles from facility

Position Details:

• Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week
• Contract length: 91 days
• Start date: June 22, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,044.80
• Scheduled weekends: 2–3 per contract
• Orientation: 48 hours provided
