First Assist Technician Job in Parker, AZ

You'll work as a Surgical First Assist Technician at Arizona La Paz Hospital, functioning as a surgical first assistant to the surgeon during operations in general, podiatry, and orthopedic procedures.

Schedule & Assignment Details:

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Call coverage Monday through Friday and every other weekend
• 13-week assignment duration
• Start date: June 1, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,431

Your Core Responsibilities:

• Apply sutures, staples, clips, and drainage systems
• Perform instrument and sponge counts during procedures
• Maintain sterile instrument tables and operating field
• Assist with room turnover and prepare surgical rooms 15 minutes prior to scheduled procedures
• Interact professionally with patients and families, providing explanations and reassurance
• Follow proper aseptic techniques and maintain sterile field integrity

Required Qualifications:

• Allied Health Professional degree
• Graduation from accredited Surgical Technician Program AND First Assist Program
• Current Surgical Technician/First Assist Certification
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technician experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach frequently
• Fine motor skills and adequate eye-hand coordination
• Color vision required
