Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week
• Required to work 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• 34-bed trauma medical/surgical unit
• Must have active RN license and BLS certification
• Required to wear navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
• Work with equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCD machines, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Required skills include Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Contract labor is first to float based on rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled
• Provide attentive and compassionate care with bedside shift reporting and patient/family involvement in care planning
• Tech support available on day and night shifts, unit secretary coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
