Cardiac PCU RN Job in Oklahoma City, OK

OU Health in Oklahoma City is seeking an RN for a 12-hour shift role in our Cardiac Progressive Care Unit. This 89-day travel assignment begins September 7, 2026, and offers $2,638 weekly.

About the Role

You will work on a mixed cardiovascular floor with 24 beds—12 step-down and 12 med-surg—located in a newer tower with in-room monitors. Your responsibilities include:

• Provide direct patient care to an assigned group, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments
• Manage chest tubes, IV drips, and intravenous infusions and blood products
• Interpret EKGs and monitor cardiac rhythms and rates
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, intervening as necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Collaborate with cardiac rehab, education, and discharge planning teams
• Support pre- and post-procedure care and cardiac stabilization
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans and facilitate discharge planning
• Make appropriate referrals for patient care needs
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed

Required Experience

You must have cardiac nursing experience and demonstrated competency in step-down/PCU settings. Experience with chest tubes, drips, and mixed med-surg and step-down environments is required.
