Med Surg RN Job in Phoenix, AZ

St Josephs Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment on the Med Surg unit. You'll work 3x12-hour day shifts per week with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5.

Assignment Details:

• 12-hour day shifts; 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday shifts required based on unit coverage
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Self-scheduling in 4-week blocks
• 2 orientation shifts with a preceptor
• Weekly pay: $2,125.44
• Start date: July 6, 2026

Clinical Requirements:

• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Recent med/surg experience required; no first-time travelers
• Charge nurse experience and telemetry experience preferred
• Dysrhythmia exam must be completed prior to contract acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass orientation exam on day 1
• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (pass/fail)
• Maintain sterile field competency for frequent skill performance
• Complete educational training in lifts, restraints, and wound care

Clinical Focus:

• Common diagnoses: post-op, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, infection
• Heparin drip titration required; no cardiac drips
• Telemetry floating possible; travelers are first to float (telemetry experience preferred)
• Respiratory therapy assigned to the unit; nurses not expected to manage respiratory equipment independently
• Charting system: Cerner

Requirements:

• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Natural hair color and no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Own vehicle required
