Medical Lab Technician

Opportunity:

Medical Technologist - Lab

Job Details:

• Work 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM shift
• 7 days on, 7 days off schedule
• Blood bank department assignment on 3rd floor main laboratory
• Minimum 6 months of current acute care medical technologist hospital experience required
• Must be certified technologist, preferably MLS(ASCP) or MLT(ASCP)
• Blood bank experience preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Perform analytic testing using laboratory instrumentation
• Review and release test results
• Troubleshoot instrument issues
• Interact with key stakeholders including phoning critical values and confirming orders
• Work with standard laboratory instrumentation including primary Siemens and Sysmex equipment
• Handle Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, and Microbiology testing
• Must be able to quickly train and work independently in assigned department
• Coverage position for staff leave
