ED RN Job in Artesia, NM

Artesia General Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in the Emergency Department. You will work 3 shifts per week at 12 hours each, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with every other weekend required. This is an acute care role with no on-call, standby, or floating requirements.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Manage 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio, treating 40–50 patients daily ranging from minor injuries to major traumas, STEMIs, strokes, crush injuries, burns, and amputations
• Mix and titrate critical drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Epinephrine, Insulin, and others
• Read and interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs independently
• Manage respiratory equipment and respiratory treatments
• Draw labs as needed; phlebotomy support available
• Work in a Level 1 & 2 trauma facility with 1 ED physician and house supervisor on-site 24/7

Facility Details:

• 1 triage nurse with 2 triage rooms; 5 beds and 2 trauma bays
• X-ray, CT, ultrasound, interventional technology, and MRI available 24/7 with portable equipment
• Charting system: TruBridge - Evident
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs; jackets without hoods permitted

Requirements:

• 5 years of emergency department experience required; trauma Level 1 & 2 ED experience accepted
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS, NRP, PALS, TNCC, ENPC
• Valid New Mexico nursing license required
• Ability to critically think and work independently
• BSN not required
• First-time travelers accepted

You will receive 1–2 days of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor. You will not be asked to serve in a charge nurse role. Weekly pay is $2,138.40. Assignment begins July 6, 2026.
