PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with cardiac focus
• Patient ratios: 1:5 (may occasionally flex to 1:6)
• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday shifts and charge nurse assignments as needed
• Regular floating required between departments, units, and facilities
• Must hold both Kansas and Missouri nursing licenses or compact license
• 2 years of experience required with cardiac experience mandatory
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, post-cardiac procedures care, IV therapy, central line management, chest tube care, respiratory support, wound care, and isolation precautions
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Daily census of 18 patients in 19-bed unit
