CVOR Technologist Job in Louisville, Kentucky

You will work as a Surgical Tech in the Cardiothoracic Operating Room (CVOR) at Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a night shift position—5 days per week, 8 hours per day—with a 96-week assignment starting June 1, 2026. You will earn $2,516 per week.

Your responsibilities include:

• Work under the direct supervision of the RN in the operating room environment
• Set up efficiently for procedures with strong knowledge of instrumentation and cardiothoracic equipment
• Maintain and protect the sterile field during all procedures
• Ensure you are scrubbed and in the room before the patient enters
• Participate in time-out procedures and maintain accurate instrument and sponge counts per policy
• Label all solutions and medications before transfer to the sterile field
• Follow safe handling policies for specimens, implants, and explants
• Practice safe working habits using appropriate PPE, blade holders, neutral zones, and sharps containers
• Complete room cleaning between cases and stocking duties
• Assist with central sterile area responsibilities
• Return the room to ready state at the end of each case
• Demonstrate flexibility with ancillary duties as assigned

You must bring strong clinical knowledge of operating room procedures, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude to this fast-paced environment. Good organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential. You should be willing to precept and support peers and students when needed.

This role requires an Allied Health Professional credential and is ideal for an experienced Surgical Tech ready to contribute to a dedicated cardiothoracic surgery program.
