Med Surg RN Job in Coushatta, LA

You'll join CHRISTUS Coushatta Health Care Center as a registered nurse on the Medical/Surgical unit, working three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. This is a full-time travel position running 91 days, beginning April 27, 2026.

Your responsibilities:

• Deliver routine and complex patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Maintain a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers
• Practice independently with awareness of all relevant clinical aspects

Schedule and expectations:

• Every other weekend requirement
• On-call status only if flexed off shift
• No floating requirements between units

Requirements:

• Current RN license in Louisiana or valid compact state license
• BLS certification required
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
