About this role
You'll work as a Respiratory Therapist in the NICU at Medical City Las Colinas, a 754-bed facility in Irving, Texas. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 20, 2026.
Schedule & Compensation
- 3x12 day shifts (7 AM–7 PM)
- Rotating weekend schedule required
- $1,522 weekly pay
Clinical Role
You'll staff the Respiratory Therapy NICU unit on the 2nd floor alongside one other RT. Day shift includes a clinical coordinator Monday through Friday. Your responsibilities span NICU, Medical Stepdown/Telemetry (MST), and PCU coverage, with patient ratios and assignments subject to change based on acuity. You'll manage a range of ventilators—Servo U, PB 980, MR1 transport vent, and C1 Hamilton Medical—as well as non-invasive respiratory support including BiPAP (V60, C1), F&P Bubble CPAP, and F&P HFNC equipment. You'll perform blood gas analysis, bedside bronchoscopy assist, emergency and routine airway management, and EKG procedures. Tracheostomy care management, oxygen therapy, and participation in Code Blue, Trauma, and STEMI response are core competencies. You'll document all care, maintain physician communication, and adhere to safety standards and infection prevention protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Critical care management experience for adult ventilator patients
- Experience with ventilator weaning guidelines
- Proficiency in tracheostomy care management
- Ability to perform emergency and standard airway care for all patient populations
- EKG procedures and blood gas analysis, including ABG sample technique
- RT medication administration and plan of care competencies
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC RRT certification required
- Texas state respiratory therapy license required
- NICU experience preferred
Work Environment
You'll use the Meditech EMR system and wear black scrubs. This role combines technical expertise with direct patient care in a busy acute-care setting.
