Operating Room RN Job in Alliance, NE

Box Butte General Hospital is seeking an RN for the Operating Room in Alliance, Nebraska. This 88-week travel assignment offers a structured schedule with weekday day shifts and occasional on-call responsibilities.

Schedule & Compensation

• 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
• Day shift start times between 5:45 AM and 6:45 AM
• One night per week on call; one weekend per month on call
• When on call, scheduled for the last case of the day
• Weekly pay: $2,921.52
• Assignment duration: 88 weeks
• Start date: July 7, 2026

Role Details

You will work across 3 OR suites handling approximately 150–160 cases per month. The facility performs a variety of procedures including Endoscopy, Urology, Orthopedics (total knee, spine, hand, elbow, and shoulders), Dental, and ENT. No Neuro or open heart surgeries are performed, and no robotic equipment is on site. Circulating experience is required; scrubbing is not required.

Your responsibilities include pulling preference cards, turning over rooms, and cleaning. The facility uses Omnicell for medications and supplies, and Meditech (Surgery module) for computer charting. Equipment representatives are available for 75% of surgeries. Scrubs are provided by the department.

Requirements

• Active RN license in Nebraska or Compact State
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (all issued through American Heart Association)
• PALS required because RNs may care for pediatric patients in the Recovery Room
• Circulating experience mandatory
• PACU experience preferred (Phase 2, administering medications)
• Experience in a Critical Access Facility or small community hospital preferred
• Own reliable transportation required; Uber and Lyft services are not available in the area
