Occupational Therapist Job in Grants, NM

You will provide occupational therapy services in an inpatient and outpatient setting at Cibola General Hospital in Grants, New Mexico. This is a full-time travel position working 5 days per week on day shifts, with each shift lasting 8 hours. The assignment runs for 84 weeks, with a start date of May 25, 2026. Your weekly pay is $2,376.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Evaluate patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities through observation and standardized assessments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve functional skills
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train patients in its use
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies for daily living
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and progress reports in EMR systems
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to ensure coordinated care
• Provide ADL and mobility training
• Work with hospital equipment such as lifts, splints, and adaptive devices

Required qualifications:

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
• Must pass the NBCOT exam to become an OTR
• New Mexico OT license from the NM Regulation & Licensing Department
• BLS/CPR certification
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Experience with ADLs and mobility training
• Knowledge of hospital equipment and adaptive devices

Two years of acute care experience is preferred, particularly for higher-acuity units including ICU, trauma, and neuro services. You will be required to complete continuing education annually to maintain your license renewal.
