PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. You'll work the night shift—3 twelve-hour shifts per week, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM—at a weekly rate of $2,102.40.

Role and Unit Details

You'll staff the 4Heart Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) unit, which specializes in cardiac and vascular surgery patients. Your patient ratio will be 1:5, and you'll care for primary populations including CV surgery, vascular surgery, open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, and overflow medical cardiology patients.

Required Skills and Experience

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Stepdown and telemetry experience required
• Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery experience preferred
• CVICU experience preferred

Clinical Responsibilities

You'll perform epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander administration, and cardiac drip management. Equipment you'll use includes Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various patient lifts, and the Cerner EMR system.

Scheduling and Flexibility

A minimum of 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday, day or night) per 6-week schedule period is required. There are no on-call requirements, though you must be flexible to work holidays. You may float to any stepdown unit (1:5 ratios), medical-surgical unit (1:6-7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6).

Dress Code

All navy with white tops and navy bottoms, or all white scrubs.
