About this role

LBH - Northwest Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts on an every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday schedule. The role offers a 98-week assignment beginning July 20, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,332.80.

About the Role

You will care for patients across all age groups—neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics—in a high-volume emergency setting. The department manages approximately 120 visits per day across 54 beds. Your patient ratio will be 1:4–6 in the general emergency department, with behavioral health locked units maintaining a 1:6 ratio supported by ED staffing and security personnel.

Department Features

  • Primary Stroke Center with AHA Gold Plus designation (4-hour annual stroke CEUs required)
  • Two rapid evaluation units for urgent and critical care needs with rapid medical screenings
  • STEMI cases transferred if cardiac catheterization intervention is needed
  • Electronic health record: Cerner
  • Navy blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Maryland or Compact license
  • 3 years of nursing experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, Prophecy Relias Advanced EKG, CEN

Core Clinical Skills

You will manage arterial lines, administer blood products, care for and manage central lines, administer continuous IV sedation, interpret and manage dysrhythmias, administer IV vasopressors, perform phlebotomy, monitor procedural sedation, start and maintain IVs, conduct triage, and manage CVA cases. You may float within the hospital within your scope of practice.

Support Services

Interdisciplinary teams support your work, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and interpretation services.
