OR RN Job in State College, PA

Mount Nittany Health is seeking a registered nurse for the Operating Room in State College, Pennsylvania. This 91-day travel assignment runs from April 15, 2026, at $2,482 weekly.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative nursing care across holding, operative, and post-operative settings for pediatric through geriatric patients
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures
• Develop and implement perioperative care plans based on AORN Standards and Recommended Practice
• Monitor patient health status changes and direct appropriate care to ensure patient safety
• Apply principles of surgical technique, electrical/chemical/laser safety, and positioning
• Provide preoperative patient and family education
• Document patient interactions and changes in care plans accurately

Schedule and Hours:

• 5 days per week on rotating 8-hour shifts: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, or 11:00 AM–7:30 PM
• 40 hours per week guaranteed
• Weekend coverage and call are voluntary

Requirements:

• Current Pennsylvania RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications (renewed every two years)
• Minimum 2 years prior Operating Room experience
• Completion of accredited registered nurse program required; BSN preferred
• Must complete in-house 6-month Operating Room course upon hire
