Job Details:

• 12-week contract assignment
• Work under the supervision of the Sterile Processing Team Leader
• Prioritize, retrieve, sort, examine, decontaminate, and clean surgical instruments, medical devices, and related equipment
• Maintain current working knowledge of manufacturers' Instructions for Use (IFUs) for care and handling of instruments, decontamination equipment, and cleaning agents
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with established safety protocols
• Inspect, wash, and decontaminate items received from all patient care units, off-site clinics, and loaner equipment and instrument providers
• Disassemble and clean equipment according to manufacturers' IFUs
• Inspect instruments and equipment using magnifying glasses and/or flexible inspection scopes to detect residual bioburden, assess instrument integrity, and verify proper functionality
• Sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies using various sterilization and reprocessing systems including autoclaves, STERRAD systems, ultrasonic cleaners, and the Medivators Advantage Plus system
• Ensure departmental operating standards comply with requirements and guidelines established by CMS, AAMI, IAHCSMM, and SGNA
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required
• Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) certification highly preferred
• CPR certification required
• Rapid response/crisis position
