ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule required
• Holiday rotation participation required
• Will consider 48-hour shift blocks
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 for Stepdown and 1:5-6 for EMU floor patients
• Care for higher acuity neuroscience patients including strokes, seizures, craniotomies, and epilepsy monitoring
• Experience with EVDs preferred; strong overall neuro experience required
• History of caring for stroke patients and implementing NIH stroke scale required
• NIHSS certification must be in hand at time of submission
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Charge nurse available 24/7 and nurse aides available on unit with 1:8-9 ratio
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 for floor vents; RN vent experience not required
• Telemetry present on unit; RNs not required to read strips
• May float to units 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10W
• 2-shift unit orientation provided
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment, 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS; ACLS preferred
