Physical Therapist Acute Care Job in New Orleans, LA

Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans is seeking a Physical Therapist for acute care on general medicine floors. You'll work day shifts, 5 days per week, with block scheduling that includes up to 4 weekend shifts monthly. Shift times are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM variations.

You'll treat a primarily geriatric patient population in a high-acuity regional referral center. Your caseload averages 8 patient visits per day across a daily census of approximately 300 patients. You may float to other general medicine floors as needed. Clinical focus areas include acute care management, gait training, post-stroke rehabilitation, total joint replacement, spinal cord injury, vestibular rehabilitation, and vital sign monitoring. You'll also work with adaptive devices and range-of-motion techniques (AROM, AAROM, PROM).

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care physical therapy
• Current Louisiana state license or compact license
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Previous charge experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred

You should have solid skills in orthopedics, neurology, geriatrics, and acute care protocols. This is a 12-week contract starting July 20, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,414.
