Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the 44-bed Medical-Surgical unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. This is a 12-hour day shift position (6:45 AM to 7:15 PM), three days per week, with an every-other-weekend requirement.

Role Details

• Manage patient ratios of 1:5, with possible 1:6 assignments for both day and night shifts
• Float to all acute care units, cardiology (for medical patients), or the emergency department (for acute care patient holds) as needed
• Work alongside certified nursing assistants at ratios of 1:8 to 1:10
• Provide holiday coverage as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIHSS (AHA certified) required
• Must live within a 75-mile radius of the hospital based on your driver's license address

Facility Information

• Work with the MEDITECH electronic medical records system (experience preferred but not required)
• Telemetry monitoring is available but monitored on a separate unit
• Wear Caribbean blue scrubs per dress code
• The unit has 40 staff members

Orientation and Schedule

• One week of general orientation including EMR training
• Two days of floor-specific orientation
• 12-hour cancellation policy every 2 weeks

This assignment is 119 days, beginning April 27, 2026. Your weekly pay is $2,102.40.
