ICU Registered Nurse Job in Odessa, TX

Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for our ICU. This is a travel position running 91 days, starting May 12, 2026. You will work 4x12 shifts on nights at $2,799.36 weekly.

Role Overview

You will care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a 20-bed critical care unit with a daily census of 15 patients. Your patient ratio will be 2–3 patients per nurse. You must be willing to float to Med/Surg, Telemetry, and ER for critical care holds. Weekend coverage is required, and one pre-approved time off is allowed per contract.

Required Experience & Credentials

• 2 years of nursing experience
• Travel experience required
• Cerner charting system experience
• ACLS, BLS, TNCC or TCAR, NIH stroke education (6 hours), and EKG course completion
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)

Preferred Qualifications

• Community hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience

Core Skills & Competencies

You will manage arterial lines, ventilators, and central lines. You will administer blood products, assist with chest tubes, and manage BiPAP/CPAP. Your role includes titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, managing continuous IV sedation and paralytics, and providing post-surgical care and CVA/stroke management. You must be competent in ABG and dysrhythmia interpretation, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocols, and procedural sedation.
