Job Details:

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders
• Work under supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist
• Utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions
• Administer various procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly
• Report effectiveness of treatment outcomes to supervising Occupational Therapist
• Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers and other service providers
• Document all regulatory and clinically required information in electronic documentation system
• Accurately record treatment minutes for services provided per all regulatory and clinical requirements
• Participate in required meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings
• Attend facility and company required trainings, in-services and conferences
• Work with supervising Occupational Therapist to obtain necessary DME or supplies
• Supervise and support students under guidance of Occupational Therapist
• Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends unless holiday falls within weekdays
• No on-call responsibilities
• 1 year of OTA experience required
• Long-term care or skilled nursing facility experience required
• Active Missouri OTA license required
• New graduates acceptable with Level II experience (not just Level I observation)
• Adherence to NBCOT/AOTA and State required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics
