About this role

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking an RN for a Med Surg position. You'll work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with 5–6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule. This is an 89-week travel assignment beginning August 10, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,264.40.

About the Role

You will implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person, focusing on healing and wellness. Your responsibilities include:

  • Perform and document comprehensive assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policies
  • Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level when delivering care
  • Identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints; collect objective and subjective data
  • Develop and prioritize patient problem lists based on interprofessional team input
  • Determine desired outcomes in coordination with patient and family in accordance with the medical plan of care
  • Fully implement patient care therapies and procedures within your scope of practice
  • Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
  • Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
  • Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in patient care activities
  • Identify and address educational needs of patients based on prioritized problems
  • Facilitate the patient discharge process by executing discharge orders and coordinating with Case Management
  • Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, pressure ulcer reduction, CAUTI prevention, and documentation auditing
  • Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
