Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week with two available shift options: 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM (pre-op) or 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM (post-op)
• On-call requirements include 2 eight-hour call shifts Monday through Thursday and 1 twelve-hour on-call shift per 6-week schedule
• 1 summer and 1 winter on-call holiday required
• Weekend on-call coverage includes 1 twelve-hour shift per 6-week schedule
• Patient ratio is 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 13-week contract; block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Float may be required to the SPU/PACU, GI, and Pain Center as needed
• Care for patients across all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Manage post-surgical and post-procedural diagnoses including craniotomies, liver and kidney transplants, GYN procedures, urological, ENT, dental, general surgery, GI, cataracts, enucleation, vascular, cardiac cath procedures, interventional radiology, GI procedures, Level 1 Trauma cases (gunshot wounds, stabbings, MVAs), and breast surgery/reconstruction
• Operate and manage special equipment including ventilators, A-lines, Swan catheters, ventriculostomy drains, CBI, and vasoactive IV titration
• Utilize Cerner Aecis Surgi Net charting system; charting system experience required
• Scrubs are provided
• Minimum 2+ years of experience required in Critical Care or PACU
• Level I Trauma experience and ICU background required
• SICU, MICU, and CTICU experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
• Self-scheduling model utilized
