PACU RN Job in Wichita, Kansas

Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas is seeking an RN for its Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This is a 91-day travel assignment starting April 21, 2026, offering three 12-hour day shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Role Overview

You will provide post-operative care in a 30-bed recovery room, managing patients recovering from various surgical procedures including craniotomies and orthopedic surgeries. Patient ratios typically range from 1 RN to 2 patients or 1 RN to 1 patient, depending on acuity level. You will work alongside a charge nurse and approximately 12 nursing staff on day shift, maintaining quality care delivery while managing the demands of a busy recovery environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess post-operative patients in the immediate recovery period
• Manage patient care according to acuity and established ratios
• Respond to on-call requests with a 30-minute response time
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and communication with the surgical team
• Work effectively under pressure while prioritizing patient experience and safety

Requirements

• Current RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital PACU experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Flexibility with scheduling
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Meditech EMR experience preferred

Compensation

This position offers $1,839.60 weekly. Housing and travel assistance may be available as part of your travel package.
