Opportunity:
Ultrasound Tech - Ultrasound Tech
Job Details:
• Apply sonic energy to assist in diagnosis by performing sonography procedures, computer processing, and related techniques
• Produce quality images for Radiologist review with correct interpretation
• Prepare copies of images and record image releases in electronic health record
• Verify images are archived to PACS and notify PACS administrator of any issues
• Send images to tele-radiology service after hours as instructed
• Participate in image Peer Review with Ultrasound Coordinator
• Assist with ACR accreditation efforts as needed
• Order and restock supplies and linens as needed
• Report equipment malfunctions and environmental safety concerns to appropriate personnel
• Work with vendors to schedule equipment maintenance
• Collaborate with EHR team on changes and needs for the Electronic Health Record system
• Monitor supply inventory and ensure equipment is properly maintained
• Stay up to date on regulatory standards and changes
• Verify patient orders, name, birth date, and medical history prior to procedures
• Document all patient care incidents in electronic health records
• Perform and document time out procedures for invasive procedures
• Follow department protocols for all exams and provide initial interpretation per protocol
• Coordinate patient exams with transport and nursing units
• Continuously monitor patients throughout all exams
• Assist Radiologist and authorized providers with exams and procedures as necessary
• Provide supervision and instruction to ultrasound students during clinical rotations
• Actively participate in training new employees on equipment functionality and exam protocols
• Adhere to hospital and department dress codes including wearing safety shoes and appropriate safety equipment
• Attend all required safety training programs and work site meetings
• Follow safety guidelines established by accrediting and government agencies
• Follow hospital-wide and departmental infection control policies and procedures
• Participate in fire drills and disaster drills as appropriate
