ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Patient ratio experience of 2-3:1 in ICU setting
• May be required to float to MS/Tele if ICU has low census with ratios of 5-6:1
• Weekend coverage required
• Up to one pre-approved time off request per contract
• Treats patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• 20-bed unit with a daily census of 15
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC or TCAR, NIHSS, and EKG course completion
• 6 hours total of Stroke education required
• Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVA/acute stroke management, emergency medications, external ventricular drain (EVD) management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ICP monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, lumbar drain management, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure, PICC line management, post craniotomy and post neurosurgery management, pre/post cardiac cath and intervention, spinal cord injury care, suctioning (ETT and NT), titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, traumatic brain injury management, and ventilator management
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
