About this role

Center Personal Health is seeking an RN to serve as a GI Oncology Nurse Navigator in Fairfax, VA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 15, 2026.

Role Overview

You will work as a Nurse Navigator for newly diagnosed cancer patients, serving as the primary point of contact and care coordinator from initial referral through the start of treatment. This role focuses on care coordination rather than direct patient care. You will manage high-volume workflows while maintaining organized, efficient operations across multiple providers and departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments including MD visits, port placements, echos, and chemotherapy cycles
  • Review patient charts, determine necessary imaging, and identify gaps in documentation
  • Provide support and coordinate care for patients seeing multiple providers in a single day
  • Participate in tumor board, multi-disciplinary case management, and case conference coordination
  • Serve as patient liaison until transition to clinic nurse for treatment
  • Triage and delegate tasks as needed using spreadsheets to track patient progress
  • Access and navigate Epic electronic health records system

Schedule & Compensation

You will work 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with 8 hours guaranteed daily. There are no weekend, on-call, holiday, or floating requirements. Weekly pay is $2,326.66.

Requirements

  • BSN-RN with current BLS certification
  • Minimum 3 years of acute oncology experience
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Outpatient and GI oncology experience preferred
  • Prior nurse navigator or nurse coordinator experience preferred

Facility Details

Dress code is navy scrubs or business casual. Unit and department orientation lasts 1 to 2 weeks with patient coordinators and other navigators available for support.
