PACU RN Job in Salem, VA

You'll work as an RN in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Lewisgale Medical Center VA, providing direct patient care during the critical recovery period following surgery. This is a 12-hour shift role working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Your responsibilities include:

• Deliver OR circulator services with 1:1 patient ratios
• Function independently with strong OR circulator experience
• Manage orthopedic trauma procedures with demonstrated expertise
• Handle craniotomy procedures with independent capability
• Support a broad range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, spine, urology, vascular, and robotics
• Operate specialized equipment including DaVinci robotic systems, Mazor, Jackson bed, fracture bed, and standard OR equipment
• Document care using the Meditech EMR system
• Maintain composure and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment

About the facility:

You'll work within an 11-operating-room surgical suite with a team of 60-70 staff members. The facility provides scrubs, allowing you to focus on patient care. Scrub experience is preferred but not required.

• Current BLS certification (required)
• Strong OR circulator background
• Ability to function independently and as a team member
• Adaptability to changing conditions and positive professional attitude
• Experience with orthopedic trauma and craniotomy procedures

Assignment details:

This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning March 30, 2026. You'll earn $1,918.44 per week working 3x12-hour shifts.
