Registered Nurse - ICU @ Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center

<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - ICU</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• 2 years of ICU experience required<br>• Travel experience required - unit will not accept first-time travelers<br>• Patient ratio of 1:2 for all shifts<br>• Every other weekend coverage required<br>• 24 hours of orientation provided<br>• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS<br>• Preferred certification: TNCC (Trauma Nurse certification)<br>• Royal blue scrub color required<br>• Epic charting system experience preferred<br>• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred<br>• Care for patients including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics<br>• Manage complex ICU patients with conditions including cardiovascular intensive care, medical intensive care, neuro intensive care, surgical intensive care, and trauma intensive care<br>• Skills include ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, and management of high-output drains<br>• Must be available for emergency team assignments during facility emergency events<br>• Must reside over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)<br>• Louisiana or compact nursing license required upon submittal<br>• NURSYS report required with profile (must be within 4 weeks of submission)</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This healthcare facility operates a 50-bed intensive care unit with an average daily census of 44 patients. The facility provides comprehensive critical care services with extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support.
