Opportunity:

RN - Acute Care Med Surg

Job Details:

• Part-time position working 2x12-hour shifts per week
• Rotational schedule including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse required
• New York State RN Licensure required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Assess patient and family needs through active listening, direct observation, and health team communication
• Develop individualized, age-appropriate, and culturally relevant plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans based on patient response or changes in condition
• Develop specialized skills in cardiac care including telemetry monitoring
• Administer medications and apply nursing interventions with demonstrated skill and accuracy
• Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and discharge planning to support health and healing beyond hospitalization
• Promote patient safety, advocate for patient rights, and comply with infection prevention strategies
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to set and monitor patient goals
• Conduct rounds per protocol and utilize tools and equipment to keep patients and families informed, engaged, and safe
• Delegate tasks appropriately and support team members in achieving optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in Quality Improvement activities and engage in ongoing professional development
