Core Responsibilities
You'll perform a wide variety of ultrasound scans, including obstetric imaging (first, second, and third trimester), fetal anatomical surveys, amniotic fluid assessment, and abdominal studies. You'll also conduct vascular scanning for lower and upper extremity venous work and DVT evaluation, thyroid imaging, scrotal and testicular scans, and portable ultrasound examinations in pediatric, NICU, and ICU settings.
Required Experience and Certifications
- Minimum 2 years of ultrasound experience
- Current ARDMS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Experience with PACS systems
- Proficiency with isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Experience in pediatrics, NICU, and ICU environments
Technical Competencies
You must demonstrate proficiency across a broad range of abdominal scanning (aorta, appendix, bladder, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, renal studies, and spleen), vascular scanning, and additional applications including superficial masses, hernia evaluation, and ovarian and uterine imaging. Cerner charting experience and familiarity with Philips and Siemens equipment are preferred.
Work Environment
You'll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including radiology and rapid response personnel. The role includes portable ultrasound work and requires strong proficiency with isolation protocols in an acute care setting.
