Physical Therapist Assistant Job in Lafayette, IN

IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for an acute care rehabilitation role. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 23, 2026.

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5×8 hour days
• Weekly pay: $1,728
• Guaranteed 40 hours per workweek
• At least one weekend per month required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Role & Responsibilities

You will deliver rehabilitation services to inpatient acute care patients across all acuity levels, from ICU to progressive care units. Your daily patient load will be approximately 10 patients with a 62% billable units productivity standard. You will work alongside an inpatient acute care rehab team of 19 professionals.

Clinical duties include gait training, therapeutic exercises, therapeutic activities, and neuromuscular techniques. You will assess discharge disposition recommendations daily and manage complete documentation using the Cerner charting system.

Patient populations include adults and geriatric patients with diagnoses such as CABG, cardiac procedures, stroke, TBI, joint replacements, fractures, respiratory illnesses, dementia, MS, Parkinson's disease, and amputations. Experience managing high-acuity ICU/PCU patients is preferred.

Requirements

• Valid Indiana state PTA license (must be in hand prior to start date)
• BLS certification required
• 1 year of clinical experience required
• 100% floating within hospital and to affiliate hospitals nearby
• First-time travelers and local travelers accepted
• 40 hours of orientation provided
