RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts required
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• First to float policy applies
• 48-hour shifts included in scheduling
• Patient ratios of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Nurse aide support available at a 1:15 ratio
• Float pool position with floating requirements
• Call or standby requirement with LCD
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract; 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks
• Care for surgical patients including total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, and general surgery
• Care for medical patients including CHF, CVA, shortness of breath, and diabetic conditions
• Telemetry monitoring on unit with monitor tech reading strips and RN confirmation required
• Operate respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPap, and high-flow oxygen
• No drip titration required
• No charge nurse or house supervisor responsibilities
• Charting completed in EPIC system
• Any scrub color permitted
• BSN not required
• BLS certification required
• Unit-specific float checklist orientation provided
