Job Details:

• 8-hour day shifts in an acute care setting
• Charting system used is MEDITECH
• Required certifications: BLS Certification (AHA only), Certified Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NMTCB-NCT), Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist - ARRT (N)
• Arizona state license required
• Current and in good standing ARRT (NM) or NMTCB certification required
• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program required
• Uses professional judgment to adapt imaging procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes
• Selects appropriate shielding and immobilization devices for patient safety
• Evaluates lab values prior to administering contrast media or radioactive isotopes
• Performs venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance according to established guidelines
• Administers radioactive materials and/or contrast agents according to established guidelines
• Observes patients and equipment during procedures and documents patient reactions or issues
• Verifies patient identification using two unique identifiers and confirms procedure requested
• Assesses contraindications to procedures such as medications or insufficient patient preparation
• Documents patient and exam occurrences in PACS/RIS including exam start and complete times
• Prepares and administers dosages of radiopharmaceuticals per physician orders
• Monitors staff and work areas to ensure radioactive material levels meet regulatory requirements
• Performs daily quality assurance to monitor reproducibility and dependability of equipment
• Maintains current licensure and certification with ARRT for this facility
• Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with all National Patient Safety Goals
• Client may call off or cancel up to one shift per two weeks
• 12 hours of non-billable orientation; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
