CVICU Registered Nurse Job in Winston Salem, NC

You'll work as a registered nurse in the Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. This is a 13-week travel assignment with 4x12 night shifts, working 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM and 36 hours per week.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years critical care experience
• CVICU or open heart surgery experience required
• Travel nursing experience required—no first-time travelers
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Complete 8–10 hours of non-billable modules before your first day and annually

Patient Care and Unit Details

• Patient ratios: 1:1 during nights, 2:1 on weekends
• Every other weekend requirement
• Float requirement within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals
• Hospital orientation required during your first week; unit orientation timing to be confirmed
• Self-scheduling system available

Clinical Skills Required

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ECMO, IABP, post-cardiac surgery care, pulmonary artery line monitoring, TAVR, ventricular assist device management, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, cardiac drip titration, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation

Preferred Skills

• Port access and management, vasoactive drip titration, chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, high-flow nasal cannula, and ventilator management

Scheduling and Compliance

• Fatigue policy: You cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Navy or white scrubs required

Weekly pay is $2,560.90. Assignment begins May 18, 2026.
