ED Registered Nurse Job in Anchorage, AK

Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026, with 3x12-hour night shifts at $2,058 weekly.

Role Details

• Work in a 40-bed main emergency department with 7 hallway beds and 16 hold overflow beds, handling approximately 165 cases per day
• 12-hour shifts in block scheduling format with patient ratio of 1:4
• Every other weekend required; no on-call
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week with no floating within the facility
• Maximum one week of pre-approved time off, made up at end of contract

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide care for Level II adult and pediatric trauma cases and behavioral health population
• Care for patients across all age groups: neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Manage arterial lines, BiPAP/CPAP, blood products, ventilated patients, central lines, and chest tubes
• Administer continuous IV sedation and paralytics, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Perform triage and manage multisystem organ dysfunction
• Ultrasound IV placement, Kurin blood culture collection, and overhead lifts available in select rooms

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years emergency room nursing experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, TNCC, AVADE
• Cultural sensitivity to the Alaska Native population given complex social histories including domestic violence
• Cerner charting experience preferred

You will have access to respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support. Navy scrubs required.
