Registered Nurse - PCU @ Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital

<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>Registered Nurse - PCU</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM<br>• Patient ratio of 1:5 throughout all shifts<br>• May work every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block<br>• Required to work one holiday per 13-week contract<br>• Epic charting experience required<br>• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS<br>• Experience with PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown settings required<br>• Must be skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management<br>• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care<br>• Medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration)<br>• Respiratory support: nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management<br>• Experience with rapid response/code teams and isolation precautions<br>• May work without CNA support<br>• Floating required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical units<br>• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period<br>• 32 hours of orientation provided<br>• Accept first-time travelers and pending licenses from non-compact states</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital and flagship facility, serving as the region&#39;s only Level I Trauma Center. The facility is Magnet-designated for nursing excellence and affiliated with a medical school. The hospital features advanced specialty care, a dedicated children&#39;s hospital, and is certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The PCU unit has a daily census of 27 patients and serves adults and geriatrics with primary focus on pulmonary and gastrointestinal conditions.</p><p><strong>Location:</strong></p><p>Roanoke, VA</p><p>Roanoke offers a perfect blend of urban amenities and natural beauty, nestled in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
