Medical Laboratory - Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Details:

• Night shift schedule: 7 on / 7 off from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, rotation starting on Thursday night
• Training will be conducted on day shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM for 2 to 3 weeks
• Strong blood bank experience is required
• Collect, process, and receive specimens including blood, urine, fecal, and body fluid samples for analysis across all clinical laboratory departments
• Evaluate and solve problems related to collection and processing of biological specimens across all age ranges
• Perform complex laboratory procedures, recognize deviations from expected results, and correct problems using scientific principles
• Analyze quality control data, make judgments concerning results, and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision
• Participate in the evaluation of new laboratory techniques and procedures related to personnel, equipment, cost, and reference intervals
• Write and revise technical procedures as needed
• Answer inquiries regarding test results, methodology, test specificity and sensitivity, and factors that may influence results
• Review all instrument indicators and temperature monitors for laboratory departments
• Maintain self-competency in laboratory skills
• Support and communicate laboratory initiatives and philosophies
• Bachelor's degree required (Associates Degree accepted for grandfathered personnel)
• CLS, MT (ASCP), or equivalent certification required
• New MT graduates must pass certification exam within 6 months of employment start date
