Opportunity:

Sonographer - Cardiac Sonographer

Job Details:

• 3 days of call per month required - Friday/Saturday/one weeknight or 2 weeknights/Sunday
• May be scheduled at an outpatient clinic off-site from main campus
• Will cover procedures in the OR and cardiac catheterization lab
• May be required to perform fetal echocardiograms
• Must be a graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular or radiologic specialty as defined by ARDMS, ARRT, and/or CCI
• Provide intermediate-level specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations
• Accept independent clinical and non-clinical duty assignments as necessary
• Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician-ordered procedures
• Utilize specialized imaging equipment and techniques to perform diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures
• Conduct post-procedure reviews to confirm all required study elements are completed and documented
• Transfer images and data to appropriate archival systems and prepare studies for physician reporting
• Perform operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and user maintenance per manufacturer instructions
• Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care team members
• Provide instruction and mentorship to less experienced team members
• Prepare and present in-service training pertinent to assigned service area
• Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research activities
• Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as assigned
