CVOR Technologist Job in Springfield, Missouri

Join Mercy Hospital Springfield as a Certified Surgical Technologist specializing in cardiothoracic OR support. This 13-week travel assignment runs from April 10, 2026, and offers you the opportunity to work in a dynamic surgical environment while earning $1,971 weekly.

Schedule and Hours

• Work 3x12 hour day shifts (scheduled between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekend hours and rotational call as required by facility (1–2 nights per week and one weekend per month)

Your Responsibilities

• Set up surgical cases and maintain sterile field in four operating rooms
• Perform instrument counts and assist OR staff during procedures
• Provide direct patient care under surgeon and circulating RN supervision
• Mentor new surgical technicians and students
• Function in a fast-paced environment, managing occasional high-stress situations
• Float to other assignments as required by facility

Required Qualifications

• CORST, CST, or TSC certification
• BLS from AHA only
• 2+ years surgical technologist experience in a hospital setting
• 1+ years cardiothoracic experience with open heart procedures
• Demonstrated experience with open heart and thoracic procedures

Preferred Experience

• ECMO and Impella insertion
• Robotic-assisted procedures
• CABG, valve replacement, VATS, lung resection, and aortic aneurysm repair

Additional Information

• Epic Optime EMR system used in all four ORs
• Black scrubs required; no jeans or unprofessional attire
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1–April 1
