ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its 33-bed Intensive Care Unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,384.64.

Schedule and Staffing

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week
• Choose between 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum of two holidays required during your contract
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adults in the ICU

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for patients with trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose and substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent status, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular disease, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitoring systems
• Work with respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators
• Chart using the EPIC system

Floating and Orientation

• Floating required, typically to PCU with ratios of 1:4, occasionally to Med-Surg with ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Pass/fail open-book exam on Wednesdays during orientation; 90% required to pass

Requirements and Expectations

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• BSN not required
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius
• Cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• Valid driver's license required at submittal for distance verification
• Artificial nails prohibited; refusal to remove results in contract termination
• If placed on call and called back, you must arrive within 30 minutes
