RN - Progressive Care / Step Down

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work day/night rotation schedule with 36 hours per week
• On-call responsibilities required
• Work in 10-bed progressive care unit
• Care for patients with neuromuscular disorders, meningitis, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
• Handle post-surgical patients including tumor resections (brain and spine), spinal surgery, and head and neck cancer cases
• Manage normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) trials with lumbar drains
• Required experience with arterial lines, ventriculostomies, subdural drains, and lumbar drains
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and invasive BP monitoring through arterial lines
• Manage Bi-PAP/C-PAP and trach C-PAP patients on ventilators
• Administer low dose pressors, vasoactive medications, and inotropes
• Handle mannitol and 3% saline administration
• Care for tracheostomy patients and complex wounds
• Manage various lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients
• Work in primary stroke center environment
