ED Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 13-week travel contract starting July 13, 2026, offering $2,300.40 per week.

Schedule & Hours

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week
• Majority of shifts run 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
• Flex availability to 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM occasionally
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week with overtime compensation after 48 hours
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• On-call requirement of 12 hours within a 6-week period with 30-minute response time and minimum 2-hour call back
• Possible float to Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley locations

Facility & Role Details

• Trauma Level II, 18-bed Emergency Department
• Patient population includes stroke, cardiac, neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, and respiratory patients
• Fast-paced environment with 3–4 patients per nurse
• Responsibilities include lab draws, nebulizer treatments, and Pyxis medication dispensing
• Respiratory therapy and X-ray staff available on-site
• EPIC electronic charting required

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• Minimum 5 years nursing experience with at least 1 year of travel nursing experience (firm requirement)
• Trauma Level II experience required
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certification (ARC or AHA)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Any color scrubs permitted
