Registered Nurse - Pediatric Acute Care Float Pool @ University of Virginia Medical Center

Opportunity:

RN - Peds Float Pool Acute Care

Job Details:

• Work night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week assignment with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float pool position covering various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, peds med-surg, peds PACU, peds ED boarders, and postpartum/mother baby
• May be required to float to L&D and Mother/Baby during staffing crises
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Up to 40 hours approved for time off per contract
• 60 hours of orientation provided
• Must have 2 years PICU experience required and be comfortable with NICU experience
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Must adhere to facility's float policy
• Epic charting system experience required
• Travel experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, PALS, and Dr Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification (can submit pending, cost $185)
• Virginia nursing license required (can submit with pending license but must have in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• BSN preferred
• Nursys verification required for submittal
• Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU 1:2 or 1:3, Acute Pediatrics 1:4-5, Peds ED variable
• Care for patients ranging from neonates to 18 years old with various diagnoses including cardiac defects, respiratory disease, trauma, and surgical interventions
