Med Surg RN Job in Dallas, TX

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a post-surgical orthopedic spine unit at Medical City Heart and Spine. This is a 22-bed unit on the 2nd floor of the Spine building, where you'll care for patients recovering from orthopedic and spine procedures.

Your Role

You'll provide direct patient care with a ratio of 1:5 per shift, with ancillary support available. Day and night shifts are available based on unit census. There is no on-call requirement. You should be prepared to float within the health system to Telemetry and occasionally to another campus.

About the Unit

The unit experiences heavy patient volume mid-week. You'll work with patients undergoing procedures such as Tarlov and meningeal cyst removal, joint reconstruction, hip and knee surgery, and lumbar and cervical disc surgery.

What You'll Use

• EMR: Meditech
• Equipment: PCA pump, ice machine, Welch Allyn vital sign machine, telemetry box, and IV pump

Requirements

• Current RN license
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Med-Surg nursing experience required
• Orthopedic experience preferred
• PCU experience preferred
• Ability to work shifts as scheduled; excessive requests for time off will not be approved

Assignment Details

This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 25, 2026. You'll work three 12-hour nights per week at $1,576.80 per week.
