PCU Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Join Aspirus Wausau Hospital as a Registered Nurse in our 36-bed Progressive Care Unit. This is a 13-week contract role offering stable, predictable scheduling and the clinical variety that comes with intermediate-level patient care.

Position Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three days per week
• 36 guaranteed hours weekly with 36 hours of low census unbillable hours included in your contract
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Patient ratio of 4:1 in a medical-surgical intermediate care setting
• No on-call or callback requirements

Clinical Responsibilities:

You will manage a diverse patient population including those with heavy telemetry monitoring, stable weaning ventilators and trachs, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleeds, colostomy/ileostomy care, chest tubes, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke. You will manage primary patients and insulin drips independently. You may float to other inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity areas.

Requirements:

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC) certifications
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown/intermediate/PCU experience
• Ventilator and trach experience required
• At least 1 prior travel healthcare assignment
• Associate degree or certificate in nursing (bachelor's degree preferred)
• ICU experience and trauma level II experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience preferred

What We Offer:
