NICU RN Job in Austin, TX

Join North Austin Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in our 97-bed Level 3-4 NICU. This 13-week contract assignment offers you the opportunity to provide specialized care to neonatal patients in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Position Details

• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Location: 2nd floor NICU unit
• Contract duration: 13 weeks
• Start date: June 29, 2026
• No on-call requirements

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience required
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Non-first time traveler experience preferred

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Manage patient ratios of 3–4 neonates per RN
• Operate specialized equipment including Medfusion pumps, Alaris pumps, Giraffe isolettes, and GE monitors
• Document and communicate via CPN and Meditech electronic medical records systems
• Collaborate with RNs and unit clerk staff during night shifts
• Demonstrate compassionate, friendly, and outgoing care approach

Workplace Policies

• Navy scrubs required
• No nail polish or artificial nails permitted

Compensation

Weekly pay: $1,839.60
