PCU Registered Nurse Job in Roanoke, VA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting May 11, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,016.

Schedule & Staffing

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, nights from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5 (goal 1:4)
• May be assigned every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday required per 13-week contract
• Occasional floating within skillset to another PCU or medical-surgical level of care
• 32 hours of orientation provided

Clinical Requirements & Responsibilities

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• EPIC charting experience required
• Prior experience in telemetry, PCU, DOU, IMC, and stepdown settings
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Participation in Rapid Response and Code teams
• Administration of cardiac drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix) without titration
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Central and peripheral line care, chest tubes, trach care, PICC line management
• Respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, CPAP, BiPAP, and non-invasive airway management
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with general medicine diagnoses

• 26-bed unit with daily census of 26 patients
• Remote telemetry monitoring with tele-sitting support available
