PCU Job in Altoona, PA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 12-hour shift position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at UPMC Altoona. This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning April 13, 2026.

Role Overview

You will provide intermediate-level nursing care for patients transitioning between intensive care and general medical units. Your responsibilities include monitoring patients with complex medical conditions that require closer observation than general floor patients receive, administering medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor patients with complex medical conditions and vital sign changes
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records
• Respond to patient emergencies and implement appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and recovery

Qualifications

• Current RN license required
• PCU or stepdown experience preferred

Compensation and Schedule

Weekly pay is $2,332.80. You will work 12-hour shifts over a 90-day assignment at this progressive care facility in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
